Xela Floor Pouf - Patzun Blush
Texture. Pattern. Loads of color. This gorgeous pouf is the just the dose of nomadic spirit every boho cool interior craves. Custom designed and every inch an artisanal legacy, each pouf is handwoven using vintage huipiles (traditional Guatemalan blouses) and cortes (traditional Guatemalan skirts).
Handwoven using traditional backstrap weaving technique, each huipil and cortes takes 4-6 weeks to weave and 2-3 days to reconstruct as a pouf.
This pouf comes with a pre-filled cruelty-free down alternative insert.
Crafted from a textile originally handwoven for and worn by an indigenous woman, this pouf is in vintage condition. Some minor imperfections are possible and are a nod to its cultural significance and history.
A seamless combination of legacy textiles, this pouf is handcrafted from a vintage huipil and corte (traditional blouse and skirt worn by many Guatemalan women to this day). The huipil is originally woven by the weavers of Patzun and the corte by the weavers of Totonicapan.
Woven on a backstop loom, each huipil is a nod to the village it comes from and social status of the weaver and is rooted in symbolism. Patzun huipiles are known for their red background cloth (which for many women of Patzun symbolises the blood of their ancestors and the color of Patzun, “their color”) and the ornate hand embroidered floral neckline. The corte, on the other hand, is brought to life using a tie-and-dye method (jaspe, or ikat as its known elsewhere) and woven on a foot loom.

JASPE & JASPE BASURA
We recommend that cushions, rugs, throws and bed blankets from these collections are dry cleaned. This will ensure that colors retain their luster and fabric its shape.
TOTO & CHILE VERDE
Gently wash cushions, bed blankets and throws from these collections by hand, in cool water. Wrap the tassels in rubber bands before washing, use mild soap and line dry to maintain the piece's original shape.
Clean with a natural or mild cleanser (avoid harsh chemicals) and a soft cloth.
Vacuum regularly. Rotate every few months to even out wear, especially if the rug is located in a high traffic area. In case of a liquid spill, blot the spot using a white cloth to draw up the liquid; never rub a wet stain to prevent colors from bleeding. If further spot cleaning is required, entrust your rug to a professional dry cleaning service.
